Common Question at the Supper Market!
You find your self in the produce isle, again asking the same question as always. Is organic really better for you and your family? Maybe I can help!
Most people’s fight about organic vs. conventional is the pesticides, and other harmful chemicals. Also the residue left behind from these pesticides witch people want to limit their exposure to.
The truth is yes; there are chemicals, pesticides and residue on conventional food. That’s not rocket science! But what people don’t know is that yes, organic is said to be better for the environment, but there is no scientific proven evidence. However it is true that organic farms use natural pesticides that are proven to be harmful/toxic to wildlife. There fertilizers also contain bacteria witch can also be harmful to us humans. But yes they do have less chemically altered ingredients going into the food.

Also people wonder about the nutrition of the product, once again there is no evidence to back that organic food has more nutrition then convention, and as fare as freshness, that depends on the fact, were is it grown and shipped from.
It was also proven that organic spoils faster, simply because it was not treated with the preservedives. The perservideves and pesticides have no affects on your heath ether.
The only difference you really to worry bout is your wallet, simply because of the fact you will pay more for organic if that’s what you chose. Organic cost more because it makes more work for the farmers to produce, and the taste is completely up to you.
Me personally why make more work for the farmers, and if there’s no risk to my heath why should I pay the extra cash? But the chose is clearly yours.

Nice job on the article. I always heard a lot about organic vs. conventional, but I never really knew the facts. Organic was always said to be a lot better for you, but I also noticed that organic food markets are in fact a lot more expensive. By reading your article I learned that organic food might be a little overrated. I know now that staying healthy is more dependent on my food choices and their freshness than the type of farming that was done.

Mirah,
You did a good job on the article. The only problem I had was some of the grammatical errors. You spelled a few words wrong. Other than that, it was good. I always knew organic was said to be better for you, but it doesn’t really make sense to pay more for food that will spoil sooner. I agree with Gabby, organic food seems to be overrated.

Hey, Ya I alsways thought organic was better, and its all my sister eats. I also dont understand why you would pay more for something that benifits you just as much.
Yes organic is way overated these days. I always belived that it was always the better choise, thats why I desided to resurch it, what a major let down! I found every thing that was said about organic to be compleatly the opposite.

Miriah,
Wouldn’t it be an intelligent choice to grow as much of your own food as you could, then you wouldn’t need to worry about how it was grown and where it came from?
